A monkey climbs 6 mts and falls 3mts in alternate minutes. Means in 2 minutes distance convered is 3mts.
In 36 mins distance covered is 54 meters. on 37th minute it reaches to 60 meters

- the monkey goes up 6m in 1 minute and comes down 3m in the next minute
so, the monkey will climb up 3 metres in every 2 minutes
but here is a trick, if the monkey reaches the top, it will not come down again!
so substract 6 metres from 60 metres, u will get 54 metres
then the monkey will go up 54 metres in 36 minutes, rest 6 metre, he will take 1 minute
so, total 37 minutes :) - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(23) No(0)
- 3 mts ---> 2min
1 mts ---> 2/3
60-6=54
54 mts --> 54*2/3=36
therefore time req = 36 + 1=37min - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(13) No(1)
- monkey climbs 6 mts and falls 3mts in alternate minutes.
so in 2 mints monkey climbs (6-3)=3 meters. in the last climb monkey does fall 3mts.so (60-6)=54mtrs climbs in (54/3)*2=36 mins.
so the last 37th mins monkey reach 60 mtrs. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(1)
- ans:40 mints
in 2 mints it climbs [6-3] mts
time taken to climb 60mts=60*2/3=40 mints - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(25)
- height climbed every min =6-3=3 mts
in 18 min, height climbed=3*18=54 mts
in 19th min,height climbed=6 mts
total height climbed in 19 min =54+6=60 mts.
hence ans=19 min. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(3)
