Let the amount received is Rs.100
Spent on purchases:Rs.20
Remaining is Rs.80
Transport is 5% on Rs.80=Rs.4
Thus Left Over amount is Rs.76(100-20-4)
When Rs. 76 is the leftover amount, amount received is Rs.100
When amount left is Rs.1520, amount received is: (100/76)*1520=Rs.2000

If initial amt was x, then
remaining amount = 0.8*0.95*x= 1520
x= 1520/0.76 = Rs 2000

20 % was spent.......5% 0f other 80%=4% so total 24% was spent....

76%=1520(20 times 0f 76)

so 100%=2000(20 times of 100)

20% was spent on purchases then x*20/100=0.2*x
5% of the remaining on transportation then(x-.2*x)*5/100=.04*x
he is left with Rs.1520,then
x=.2*x+.04*x+1520
then x=2000

The initial amount was 2000.

1520/95*5=80
1520+80=1600

1600/80*20=400
1600+400=2000

(x*80/100)*95/100=2000

let sp = x
therefore cp = .2x
transport cost = .8*.5 =.04x
so x -.2x-.04x = 1520
so x= 2000
