At what time r the 2 hands of a clock together between 2 and 3 pm?


It will be
2/11 hrs past 2


the hour hand travels at 30 degree/1 hr or 1/2 deg per min
minute hand travels at 6 degree per min

If they meet after x min from 2 PM
Angle between two hands at 2 PM = 60 deg

so,(60+x/2)=6x

11x/2=60
x =120/11 minutes after 2 PM
or
2/11 hrs after 2 PM

if speed of man in still water is x and
speed of water is y, then

30/(x-y)+44/(x+y)=10

40/(x-y)+55/(x+y)=13
x=8

speed of man in still water is 8 km/hr

rate of upstream=xkm/hr
and rate of down stream =ykm/hr
then 30/x+44/y=10-->1
40/x+55/y=13-->2
eq 1*4
eq 2*3
sloving both y=11
x=5
speed of man in still water is 1/2(11+5)
=8kmph
