B takes two packet 9+3=12
C takes two packet 8+8=16
D takes two packet 9+8=12

Q1. Maximum weight of two packet= 9+9=18

Q2. minimum weight of two packets= 3+3= 6

let shopkeeper have packet of x,y,z kg
x+y=11,
x+z=17,
y+z=12,
on sloving these equations
x=8,y=3,z=9
so min 3+3=6
mAx 9+9=18

The best way to start these type of question is to first see available options
and then assuming like maximum wieght is 17 kg so one of the weight should be >8
then make cases
9+8=17
8*2=16
so to make 12 =9+3
and so 8+3 =11

there can be three weights..
9,8,3 kg
A can take 8+3=11
b can take 9+3=12
c can take 8+8=16
d can take 9+8=17
thus max weight=9
min weight= 3

For maximum value of weight :-
A can take packets :- 6+5=11
B can take packets :- 6+6=12
C can take packets :- 11+5=16
D can take packets :- 11+6=17
so maximum weight could be = 11+11=22
For minimum value of weight :-
A takes two packet 8+3=11
B takes two packet 9+3=12
C takes two packet 8+8=16
D takes two packet 9+8=12

here 2 cases comes...the minimum is 6(3+3)ie for 3,8,9 kg packs
maximum is 22(11+11) for 11,6,5 kg packs
5+6=11
6+6=12
11+5=16
11+6=17
hope it z ok...

i got 3,8,9 combination(8+3=11, 8+8=16, 8+9=17, 3+9=12) . So max=9, min=3
