Ans: 12 years is correct
6x+5x=66 =>11=66
so x=6

Present ages of two peoples :6(6):5(6) =>36:30
after some years the ratio 8:7 :8(6):7(6) =>48:42
Difference of two peoples ages is 12years
So after 12 years The ratio will be 8:7

Ans: 66/11= 6, their present ages are 36 and 30,
36+x/30+x =8/7
7(36+x) =8(30+x), 252+7x=240+8x, x=252-240=12
Alternately what should be added to 66 so that it is divisible by 15 and the difference of the new and the old number should be divisible by 2? If you read the table of 15 it is 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90. 75-66=9 and 90-66=24, since 9 is indivisible by two the number is 90. 90/15=6, 6x8=48 and 6x7=42, so the ratio of their ages is 48/42=8/7 which will take place 12 years.

the ratio is 6:5 and sum is 66
6x+5x=66
11x=66
x=6
so x is multiple of 6
x=6(6)=36
x=5(60=30
36+y/30+y=8/7
y=12

the ages of 2 freinds=6x and 5x
sum of ages=6x+5x=66
=11x=66
=x=6
after n years,the ratio be,
6x+n/5x+n=8/7
subs x=6 and multiplyng this,get
n=12.
so after 12 years ratio will become 8:7

x=6;
(8*6)+(7*6)=100;

i.e 6x+5x=66
x=6
now total of their age will be (8x+7x)
ans=90
the ages of two friends is 90

Ans: Solution is 12
because Ratio of 2 friends is 6:5 and sum of their ages is 66
so, 6x+5x=66 i.e. 11x=66 => x=6
After some years their ratio of age is 8:7
Sum of their current ages=8x+7x => 13x => 13*6 =78
So difference between the years=78-66=12
So after 12 years the ratio of their ages will be 8:7

first frnd age=6/11*66=36
second frnd age=5/11*66=30
let the no of years=x
36+x/30+x=8/7
x=12 years

Here don't try trial and error method..
given ratio 6:5 and sum is 66
6x+5x=66--->x=6
then 6x/5x=6/5--->36/30=6/5
likewise (6x+y)/(5x+y)=8/7
(36+y)/(30+y)=8/7
(36+y)*7=8*(30+y)
252+7y=240+8y
252-240=8y-7y
12=y
therefore y=12 years...its just simple arithmetic method ..don't be confused
