formula is first highest value+second highest value+2=40+27+2=69

total taken by u is 4 because if 3 are different but remaining one is pair with one of the remaining 3

There is a trick to solve these types of puzzles . Use the formula bigger + middle +3

You can see 40 - bigger , 27 - middle , 13 - smaller

So , the solution is 40 + 27 + 3 = 70

13C2*27C2*40C2 will be the answer...we have to select atleast one pair...and for which we have to pick 2 gloves from each..

Here add big number then middle number then last number i,e
40+27+2 = 69 But here 40 is even number and 27 is an odd number so add +1
So 69+ 1 = 70 Ans !

G=40(Paired)
B=27(Paired)
R=2(We need to take at least 2 Red Gloves for making pair)
So Total=69

consider the worst case probability..let consider we first find green gloves.so 40
now we find black...we take 26 gloves.so our next pick will be 1 black + 1 red gloves...which doesn't make a pair
now our next pick will be 2 red gloves
so total pick=40+26+1+1+2=70
