Let the lady be at the position x initially. She walks 18 kms east and then 24 kms north. Now she is in the north-east direction at a distance of square root(18^2 +24^2) i.e 30 kms. (Pythagoras theorem)

answer is 30 (i.e) it is similar to the diagnol of the triangle so sqare root of a*a+b*b so the diagnal is obtained square root of 900 so answer is 30
