answer 2x years, x=1,2....

let their current ages are 5x ,7x

after n years their ages becomes 7 :9

then 5x+n/7x+n =7/9

45x+9n =49x +7n

2n= 4x

n= 2x

if x = 1 their ages 5,7 then n=2 after 2 years their ages 7,9
x=2 their ages are 10,14 then n=4 after 4 years their ages 14,18

5 + x/7 +x = 7/9

on solving we get x = 2;
