1st term= 3 = 2^2 - 1
2nd term= 10 = 4^2 - 6
3rd term= 36 = 7^2 - 13
4th term= 99 = 11^2 -22

Now,we separate out the perfect squares forming the following sequence:

2^2,4^2,7^2,11^2
clearly 2+2=4
4+3=7
7+4=11
So, evidently the next term of the square sequence will be :
(11+5)^2 = 16^2 = 256 ;

Now,now we separate out the subtracted terms,i.e, : 1,6,13,22
Here also :
6=1+5
13=6+7
22=13+9
So, definitely,the next term will be :
22+11=33.

So, the next number in the given sequence will be : (16)^2 - 33 = 256-33=223

So, the the next number in the sequence will be : 223 .

@ PARAG KAMRA :

In ur solution , u haven't shown how 10 comes following ur logic...Isn't it ?? U have just omitted the 2nd term , i.e, 10.

@ AKARSH:

How, does ur logic substantiate the generation of the 2nd term ,i.e, 10? Why, in the 2nd term , is 9 not multiplied and from then on wards suddenly 9 gets multiplied with 1,2,3 ? Does ur logic really suit for the given sequence.Please think again and then please dont forget to share ur valuable opinion and deliver ur feedback in the given context...

10 - 3 =7 =2³-1

36-10 =26 =3³ -1

99-36 = 63 =4³-1

so next number is 99 + 5³ -1 = 223

3^1+(0)=3
3^2+(1)=10
3^3+(1*9)=36
3^4+(2*9)=99
3^5+(3*9)=270

so series will look like
