6 because according to the q only a1 handshake with others
so total handshakes are 6
(a1-a2,a1-a3,a1-a4,a1-a5,a1-a6)

according to question A1 have to shake hand with others so (A1,A2)(A1,A3)(A1,A4)(A1,A5)(A1,A6)(A1,A7)

solution is 6..
bcz people who write 21 dont see that we have to count distinct shake hands by only a1.. nt by all ...
so a1 will shake hands with remianing 6 w/o his self ...

keeping a1 aside there are 6 members.for a1 to shake hands with other 6 without repetition there are 6 possibilities

if in questn said about cyclic handshake then 7c2.
and if without cylic handshake then 7-1=6.

According to condition:without repeatation
7 persons have 6 shakehands
remaining 6 persons have 5 shakehands
remaining 5 persons have 4 shakehands
remaining 4 persons have 3 shakehands
remaining 3 persons have 2 shakehands
remaining 2 persons have 1 shakehands
so 6*5*4*3*2*1=720

The number of persons(n)= 7
Without Repeat so we can use =(n-1)
Answer=(7-1)
=6
