because
suppose number of males =m
and number of females =f
so m+f=5000
after increase males by 10% m1=110m/100
and female by 15% f1=115f/100
and m1+f1=5600
so putting values of m1 and f1
equation become 110m+115f=560000

after solving both equations we get f=2000 and m=3000
so no of males =3000 answer is (c)

If all 5000 were men, increase in population would have been 500.
If all 5000 were women, increase in population would have been 750.
Actual increase in population =750

By alligation method,
Ratio of men to women is (750-600): (600-500) or 150:100 or 3:2

so number of males = 5000*3/5 = 3000

1.1x+1.15y=5600

let x be male, y be female

x + y = 5000 ---> (1)
x+10%x + y+15%y =5600
x + (10/100)x + y + (15/100)y=5600
(110/100)x + (115/100)y=5600
110x+115y=560000 --> (2)

solve (1) & (2)

110x+115y= 560000 --> (2)
-110x-110y=-550000 --> (1) * -110
-------------------
5y= 10000
y= 2000
x+y =5000
y=2000 then x=3000

No. of male in the village is 3000

take no of men=x and no. of female =y,then x+y=5000, and after increasing population 110x+115y=5600 , by solving these equation we get x=3000

100% = 5000, and 10% and 15% are increases so if 10% & 15% = 600.
consider that 3000 10% is 300 and 2000 15 % is 300 so we get the answer as 600. simple reverse engineering.

the total population is 5000
if we consider x as male then 5000-x as female
10% increase in male then 110x/100
15% increase in female then 115(5000-x)/100
therefore 110x/100 + 115(5000-x)/100=5600
the answer is x= 3000.
