i think the question is wrongly typed....instead of rs.2 in 1st case it will be rs.20.....and the ans will be 15 litres of water(using alligation formula)

C.P. of 1 litre of milk = Rs. (20 x 2/3) = Rs. 40/3c.p of 1 litre of milk c.p of 1 litre of milk 0 Rs.403 Mean price(Rs. 32 )3(40/3-32/3)=8/3 (32/3-0)=32/3
∴
Ratio of water and milk =8 : 32 = 8 : 32 = 1 : 433
∴
Quantity of water to be added to 60 litres of milk =
[
1/4 X 60
]
litres =15 litre

current cost price of milk Rs. 20(not 2, print mistake) for 1½.
so price of 60= 60*20/1½==>800

now assume x liters add than
==>(60+x)*10 2/3 = 800
x = 14.9765
so 15 liters of water is added.
