ans no of adult and children tickets sold are 198 and 162 respectively

let x and y be no of adult and child tickets sold respectively
x+y 360 y =360-x
x*1.10 + y*0.40 = 282.60
x*1.10 + 360*0.40 - 0.40 * x = 282.60
0.7x + 144 =282.60
0.7 x = 282.60-144 = 138.6 => x=138.6/0.7
x = 198 y= 162
