ans is 36 itself when the ratios are 100:60:40
so harry had $40 then amount paid by tom is (100/200)*120=60
amount paid by harry is (40/200)*120=24
so 60-24=36

Just consider the ratio of money taken out by all three of them i.e
100:60:409 ,now as per the question the amount paid by tom more than harry so==409-100=309
now by ratio's concept 309/569*120 {120 is total money been spent}=65.16

100X + 60X + 409X = 120(Bill + tip)
so X = 0.2(appro.)
now The amount of money which Tom paid more than what Harry paid is (409*.21-100*.21)=65.16

Their ratio : 100:60:409

HEnce 100X + 60X + 409X = 120(Bill + tip)
so X = 0.2(appro.)
Harry pays = > 409 * 0.2 = 82(appro.)....:)

Tom:Dick:Harry => 100:60:40 => 5:3:2 The total bill was for 104+16 = $120

We can write this as: 5x + 3x + 2x = 120 => 10x = 120 => x = 12 So we can now find out how much each person contributed towards the final total bill. So Tom paid: 5 * 12 = 60 Dick paid 3 & 12 = 36 Harry paid 2 * 12 = 24

Therefore Tom paid (60−24)=36 more than Harry.
