for each face -- > ((9*9)-(3*3))+(4*3*3) = 108
6 face --> 6*108 = 648?

a=surface area of 6 faces=(9*9)*6
b=surface area of all holes at faces=(3*3)*6
c=surface area of insides=(9*3)*4*3
d=surface area of square at junction of 3 tunnels=(3*3)*6
therefore, final surface area after cutting=a-b+c-d
=486-54+324-54=702

for each face 9*9-3*3=72
for 6 faces=6*72=432
now for each hole at each face =3*3*4=36
for 6 faces=3*3*4*6=216
thus a total of 216+432=648sqrcm......

if the cube is solid then area=9*9*9=729
Square holes of length 3cm centered in each face are cut through to the opposite face.
so, there is 9 small cube with length 3cm each..
total area of 9 small cube = 9(3*3*3)=243
so, The surface area of the cube including the insides=(729-243)=486

702 cm^2 each face has a hole so totl area of single face =(9*9)-(3*3)+(5*3*3)
thus totl area =6*areaof single face

Surface area of the cube=6*9*9=486sqcm
Total Area of the squares= 6* 3*3=54sqcm
Now,each exterior unit squares that is removed exposes 4 interior unit squares,so the entire surface area= 486-54+(6*4)= 456sqcm
