total=100x
c=60x
b=40x
a=(40x*8/100)+(60x*75/100)=48.2x
so a get 48.2 votes of total.

Let total votes be x
So, Votes of Congress(C) = (60/100)x
and, Votes of Bjp(B) = (40/100)x

As, given A got 75% of (C) votes and 8% of (B) votes...
So, Number of votes of A = (75/100)*(60/100)x + (8/100)*(40/100)x
= (0.482)x
Now, Percentage of votes = [(0.482x)/x]*100
= 48.2%

if the total no of votes is 100
then A has votes 75/100*60+8/100*40
=48.2

75% of 60% i.e 60*(75/100)=45
and 8% 0f 40% i.e 40*(8/100)=3.2
therefore total vote=45+3.2=48.2
