loss% = 4%
cp = 249.6
10% gain on cp = 249.6+ 24.96 = 274.56 = new sp

In given question s.p=240Rs
let c.p=100% then
s.p=100% - 4%=96%.
96% of s.p----------Rs240
100% of c.p------------Rs240*100/96=250Rs

Then he gains 10% so again s.p is 100%+10%=110%
so, 100% of c.p------------250Rs
120% of s.p----------250*120/100=275Rs answer
If u r doing from this approach it helps a lot.

S.P=240
C.P=(100/100-gain%)*S.P
C.P=(100/96)*240=250
S.P=(100+gain%/100)*C.P
S.P=(110/100)*250=275
