ankit is wrong. .ans is 1/5.
i agree we cannot give any combination with 1. . bt there are so many other combination too that we are cant take in order to make a traingle.
the condition of traingle i.e.

* sum of any towo sides of traingle must be greater than the other side, diffrence of two side must be lesser then the other side.
total combination that satisfy these condition are 7 ; {3,5,7}, {7,9,11}, {13,7,11}, {9,11,13}, {5,7,9}, {5,11,13},{3,7,9}
n the total ways of selection of 3 sides 7c3
so the ans is 7/7c3.i.e 1/5 ans :)

ans would be 4/7
total sample space =7c3(as we want make a triangle)
favourable event 6c3(leave 1 coz)(by triangle property the sum of two sides of triangle should be greater than another)
we wont give any combination with 1 thats why we left it so
6c3/7c3=4/7

@pallavi what about combination of {3,7,9}=3+7=10>9??
similarly (11,3,13)??

there are 6 match sticks in a beg..1,3,5,7,11,13. we randomly pic 3 sticks. what is the probability of getting a triangle. ?

hey. . read the condition f traingle i written in my ans. . (3,7,9) satisfies all the conditions. . and yes 11,3,13 also satisfies ol the condition then ans might be 8/7c3
