If A, B and C can do a piece of work in 10,12 and 15 days respectively. If they work together and A leaves after 2 days then B & C takes how many extra days to complete the work.

1 day work of A=1/10
1 day work of B=1/12
1 day work of C=1/15

Work done by all 3 in 2 days will be:
= 2/10 + 2/12 + 2/15
=1/2 work

So, Work left uncompleted = 1-1/2 = 1/2 work

Now 1/2 work has to be completed by B & C only
So,

1 day work of B & C = 1/12 + 1/15 = 3/20 work

As, 3/20 work is completed in 1 day
So, 1/2 work will be completed in days = 20/3 * 1/2
= 10/3, or
= 3.33 days more days will be required by B&C

a b c together one day work = 1/10+1/12+1/15=15/60=>1/4
a left after 2 days so work done in 2 days= (1/4)*2= 1/2
work left = 1-1/2= 1/2
b &c together do in 1/12+1/15= 9/60
1/2 work will be done in (1/2)*60/9= 3.33~=3
ans is 3 days extra

2(1/10+1/12+1/15)+x(1/12+1/15)=1
only find x
x=10/3
