A monkey climbs 6 mts and falls 3mts in alternate minutes
means
A monkey climbs 6 mts in first minute and falls 3mts in next minute.

In 2 minutes, it will move up by 6-3=3 metres.
Effectively , In 1 min, it will move by 1.5 mtrs.
It will move 54 mtrs in 54/1.5 = 36 mins.
Next 6 mtrs will be covered in 37th min.

so total 37 mins.

(54*2/3)+1 = 37 mins

effective gain in 2 minutes=(6-3)=3mts.
so 1 mts is gained in 2/3 minutes
to cover 54 meters he requires=54*2/3= 36 minutes..
but he will cover it in 54 mts in 36 minutes and 60 mts in 37 minutes.

IN 1 MIN IT ASCENDS=6-3=3 MTS
NOW 60MTS IT ASCENDS IN= 60/3=20 MINS
BUT IN THE END AFTER ASCENDING 6 MTS IT REACHES THE TOP
SO TOTAL TIME TAKEN WUD BE=19MINS
ANS: 19 MINS

According this one......You can calculate required time by this formula: ( We are calculating it for 59 m.)
Reqd. time =[(ht. of tree - slipped distance)/(climbed distance - slipped distance)]*t
= [(x-z)/(y-z)]*t
x=59
z=3
y=6
t=2min
then Answer we will get 37 min & 18 sec
