13^-20 - 168*13^-22 = a * 13^y
13^-22 (13^2 - 168) = a * 13^y
Thus,
a = 13^2 -168 = 169 - 168 = 1.
y = -22 (substitute powers of 13)
Therefore, a=1, y=-22.

CP of 12 clips is 60
SP of 12 clips = (1+20/100)*60
=(120/100)*60
= 72
HENCE SP OF 12 CLIPS=72
THEN SP of 1 clip= 72/12 = 6 ( this is SP OF ONE CLIP with 20% profit)
Now if he sells 10 clips SP WILL BE 60 ie)) 6*10
HENCE ANS is d

11) Vendor has to spend 72/- for each clip (by considering 20% of 60 rs). For 12 clips he spent 720(60rs*12),
now the vendor has to spend 72/- such that he has to spent total of 720/- then he has to buy
10 clips to satisfy the equation!!

No of clips that must be sold for 60 rupees to get 20% profit = ?
120% of x =60 . x = 100*60/120 = 50
No of clips that must be sold = 50/(price of 1 clip) = 50/5=10

Profit = 20%
Sp = p% of Cp
60 = 120/ 100 *x
x= 50
So , the number of clips he should sell is 50/5 = 10

Totally we have 12 clips...So (x÷12)×100=20...now x=6...so for each 6 means 72 rs(i.e 6×12=72)...but in ques they asked for 60rs..So the Ans is 10 clips(i.e 10×6=60)
