(48,24) , ( 35,7) , (16,8) , (75,15) , ( 40, x)

48 = 24 * 2
35 = 7 * 5
16 = 8 * 2
75 = 15*5
Here there is alternate multiplication by 2 and 5

=> 40 = x * 2
=> x = 20

Logic :
Take 4 numbers as each set.
They have a pattern like, first two numbers in each of the four differ by a factor of 2 (48/24, 16/8).
And the next two differ by a factor of 5 (35/7, 75/15).

Likewise the first two numbers in the required set differ by a factor of 2 (80/40).

Now our required numbers will be in the pattern of 5x and x. We need to find that x now.

Consider the sum of each of the first two sets,
48+24+35+7 = 114
16+8+75+15 = 114
Now, 80+40+5x+x should be equal to 114.
Solving for x, x = -1.
So the series would be 80, 40, -5, -1

question is wrong. replace 8 by 80. answer is 35+40 = 75
75+40=115
so ans is 115

Ans : 80 will be place of 8.
Exp:
(48,24) (35,7) (16,8) (75,15) & (80,40)
48 = 24 * 2
35 = 7 * 5
16 = 8 * 2
75 = 15*5
Alternate multiplication by 2 & 5

So ans should be 80.

75-35=40 and difference is 40 so next term is x-75 = 40 => x=115 and y = 115/5 = 23

Series will be 48,24,35,7,16,8,75,15,80,40,x,y

Now,
48/24 = 2
35/7 = 5
16/8 = 2
75/15 = 5
80/40 = 2
x/y = 5

Now,
35-24 = 11
16-7 = 9
75-8 = 67 -------------> 67-11 = 56
80-15 = 65 ------------> 65-9 = 56
x-40 = z ---------------> z-67 = 56 => z = 123
=> x = 163
y = 163/5 = 32.6
