total men in company 35% means total women in company 65%(assume total people in company 100%)
no of men emplyess attended picnic=35x(20/100)=7
no of women empolyees attened picnin=65x(40/100)=26
total percentage of empolyess attened the picnic=7+26=33%

Let Total no. of employee=x
So, No. of Men+No. of women=x
M+W=x
now M=35% of x (As given in q)
So... 35 x/100+W=x
7 x/20+W=x
W=13 x/20
Total employee went on picnic=20% of 7x/20+40% of 13x/20
= 33x/100
%Total employee went on picnic=33%

lets assume total employee =100
so,35% are male so 35% of 100=35 are male
now 35%are male that means 65% are female
hence,65% of 100 employee =65 are female
now,20% of men (35 men)=20% *35=7
and 40% of female(65 female)= 40%*65=26
so total 7+26=33
we take 100 employee so 33% employee went to the picnic

w=65
now 35*1/5=7
and 65*2/5=26
7+26=33% ans

35% men means =35 men
65 women
20% emp in 35 = 14
40% women in 65= 13
14+13=27
27%

let there be 100 employees where 35 are men and 65 are women.
20men+ 40 women= 60 employees went to the picnic
so 60 % of all the employees went to the picnic.
