it is clear from the sequence that there is 1 a ,2 b , 3 c and so on .
we have to calculate the letter at the 288 position. this is a arithmetic sequence
1+2+3+4+5+6+7+....... ______________(1)
where each term represent the no of letter starting from a.
from the formula n(n+1)/2 we come to know that 23th term of equation (1) will be the 276th term of sequence of your series that represents the letter w . hence the next letter is x which will repeat 24 times and makes the sum of sequence 300and 288 falls under the 300. hence the letter will be X
