Let Rs 100 be the income
Expenditure=Rs75
Increased income=Rs120
Expenditure in amount is same.
So, expenditure % =75/120 *100=62.5%

ANS: 62.5% of his new income.
total salary = 1.2X , his expenditure is 0.75X. new expenditure = (0.75X / 1.2X ) * 100 = 62.5% of his new income.

so new expendature will be 1.2x-0.75x i.e, 0.45x ,so 45 % of income

suppose their income is 100 rs and expenditure is 75 rs . If we increase their salary 20% means his income will be 120 rs so aexpenditure = 75+(75*20/100)= 90 rs

let salary be X. expenditure at the beginning is 0.75(X). when the salary X increases by 20% i.e., X+20%X = X+0.2X= 1.2x. now the total salary is 1.2X. expenditutre is 0.75(1.2X) i.e, 0.9X. 90% will be the new expenditure

let sal = 100, so exp. = 75

now by 20 %

New sal = 120 and new Exp. = 75 +( 75* 20 ) / 100 = 75 + 15 = 90

so Exp. now becomes 90. but % of New Exp. = ( New Exp. / New Sal ) *100 = (90/120) *100 = 75%

hence, New Nxp. = 90 But % New Exp. remain same that is 75 %

Old salary = x
Expenditure = 3/4*x---> 75% of income is expenditure
New Salary = (x/5)+x=6x/5

Assuming that the expenditure is always 75% of the salary

New Expenditure = (new salary)*3/4 = (6x/5)*3/4 = 9x/10 which is (9/10)*x = (0.9)*x

Consider he gets 100 rupee .He spends 75 rupee . His income increases by 20 = 120 rupee .
Money he spends now in percentage = 75/120 * 100 = 7500/120 = 750/12 = 62.5%
