Actually question was when they will meet at the middle of the station at the second point.They will reverse their direction each time they will reach the other station.

U can check each option one by one to get the answer.The first option was 40.5.

After 40.5 hr A will cover 202.5km. ( 27+27+27+27+27+27+27+13.5) or (27*7=189+13.5)At this moment A is in the middle of both station.

After 40.5 hr B will cover 283.5 km.(27+27+27+27+27+27+27+27+27+27+13.5) or (27*10+13.5).At this moment B is also in the middle of both station.

This concludes that A & B are standing at 13.5 km from both station(i.e middle of both station) after 40.5 hrs.

Ans will be 2 hrs 15 min

lets first train A goes to point from X to Y--> 2 hrs then it covers-->10 km
at the same time train B goes to point from Y to X-->2 hrs then it covers--> 14 km
so total distance has been covered-->24 km

remaining 3 km

train A covers the distance in 1 min-->5/60=1/12 km
so it covers the distance in 15 min-->(1/12)*15-->5/4 km

and train B covers the distance in 1 min-->7/60 km
so it covers the distance in 15 min-->7/4 km

so total distance will be 5/4+7/4-->3 km

so they will meet after 2 hrs and 15 min

two train in opposite direction so their speed=5+7=12 km/h
so time=27/12 =2.25h

Let there is a point A in the etween where they met.
So time taken by both of them is equal to reach there.
xa/5 = ya/7
xa+ ya = 27.
xa=27-ya
Putting the above equation in the first written equation we got ya = 63/4.

Put ya in ya/7 for time taken to meet them.

avrg speed=total distance/total time

Time is constant (27/2)n1/5=(27/2)n2/7 so that n1/n2=5/7 it means first train complete 5 round of 27/2 and second train also complete 7 round 27/2 distance and both stand at middle
now time equal to (27/2 + 27/2 + 27/2 + 27/2 + 27/2 )/5 equal to 27/2 hours

The correct question is:
A and B walk from X to Y, a distance of 27 km at 5 kmph and 7 kmph respectively. B reaches Y and immediately turns back meeting A at Z. What is the distance from X to Z?
