2X - Y = 23 ..................1
X=3+Y........................2

PUTTING 2 IN 1

6+2Y-Y=23
Y=17
X=20



Y=LOSS
X=WIN

37 i.e 20 for winning and 17 for loss

3 matches were won more and a win is having 2 points
So 3x2=6 points
Hence 23-6=17 points left
Now 2 points for win and -1 for losing a game
Therefore 1 point for 2 matches
And it will go on till 15 points and after that a win compute to 17 points
So total matches are-- 3+(2x15)+1=34Ans

23-6=17
since, 1 pt. in 2 matches
15pts in 30 matches
now, in 31st match.. pts=15+2 i.e 17
therefore, 6+17 i.e 23 pts in 3+31 i.e 34 matches

2*(x+3)+(-1)*x=23
x=17
and (x+3)=20
so total matches they played=37
