240 is the right answer.
1-99--20 (3,13,23,30,31,32,33,34,35,36,37,38,39,43,53,63,73,83,93)
likewise
100-199--20
200-299--20
300-399--120 (300-399 there is extra 100 3's)
400--499--20
500--599--20
600-700--20
20+20+20+120+20+20+20=240

take upto 699
first condition
set 3 at hundredth place as'

so total combinations as 1*10*10=100
coz 3 is fix and there is only one way to gain it, now we can set up digits from 0-9 for other two places.

now similary if we fix 3 at tenth place as'
_ 3 _
than there are total possible combinations are as
7*1*10=70, coz at hundred place we can count upto 7 and at unit place there are 10 possible ways to set up a digit from 0-9

if we set 3 at unit place
_ _ 3 than
possibble ways as 7*10*1=70
so total possible ways are 100+70+70=240
ANS- 240

240. For every hundred a number repeats 20 times so for 700 it is 140 times and in between 300 to 400 the number 3 will come for 100 times

From 1 to 99 19 3's are there likewise frm 100 to 199 19 3's 200 to 299 19 3's 300 to 399 Its 119 from 400 to 499 19 3's 500
To 599 its 19 & finaly frm 600 to 700-19 3's
In total its 19*6+119-Its 233..dis is the correct ans..there are no 20 3's frm 1 to 100 ..33 ll b counted twice in d same case if its 20..233 is the correct ans chums

Correct ans is 239 times because if we count from 1-100; 3 comes 20 times so as from 101-200 and 201-300 but form 301-400; 3 comes 119 times and again from 401-700 it will com 60 times so in totality
=>3*20+119+3*20
=> 239 times.
between 300 to 400 ;3 will come 120 times and as we are counting from 1-100,101-200,201-300 likewise so we are not including 300 when we start counting from 301 to 400.

Check for 3 in unit,tens,hundred place
For unit place divide in groups
3-99
103-293
303-493
503-693 total 3 in unit place 70
Same count in tens,place it comes 70
Lastly for hundred place 300,301-------399 total 99 3 's
Add all ans is 70+70+99=239

sum 240

answer is 486
1 digit no which do not contain 3=8
2 digit no. which donot contain 3=8*9
3 digit no. which donot contain 3 till 699=5*9*9
and 700=1
total=8+71+405+1=486
no. of 3=700-486=214

Ans: 220.
Solution: 1 to 99 = 20,
100 to 199 = 20,
200 to 299 = 20,
But in 300 to 399 = 100,
400 to 499 = 20,
500 to 599 = 20,
600 to 699 = 20.
add all above numbers we get 220 times 3 will occur from 1 to 700. If may wrong please explain me clearly thanks in advance :)

For every 100 their are 20+1 (for 33) 3s so for 700 we will have 21*7+100 (for all 300 terms), so the answer should be 247

We know for 0-99 the no of 3's used is 20. Therefore for 1-99 will also be 20 as 3 is greater than 1. The rule is therefore stands as for 0-199 , it will be 20*2= 40 .Similarly, from 1-699 it is 20*7= 140 and therefore from 1 to 700 the value will be 140. Hence answer is 140.

between 1to 100 : 20 number of 3's are required,such that for all 1 to 700 ...required 120 num.of 3's ;
and for 300 to 399 num of 3's are 99
so 120+99=219
