5x-1000/4x-1000=14/11 => x=3000. hence, Income of A = 5x = 5*3000 = 15000.

let As income=5x and Bs income=4x
let As expenditure=14y and Bs expenditure=11y then we know that 5x-14y=1000-->(1) and 4x-11y=1000-->(2)
on solving eqn1 and 2 we get x=3000 and y=1000
hence As income is 5x=5*3000=15000.

Solving two equation
Y=1000
So x=5000

5x=15000

explain:
let the income be x
so A's income=5x B's income=4x
let the expenditure be y
so A;s expenditure=14y B;s expenditure be 11y
they save Rs 1000
5x-14y=1000 (1)
4x-11y=1000 (2)
on solving (1) and (2)
x=3000 y=1000
so A;s income=5x=5*3000=Rs 15000
