1998 is divided into 3 parts like 1600,300 and 98.
for 1600 d odd day is 0 and for 300 datz 1. Coming to 98 years in this we have total 24 leap years nd 74 normal years. 24*2+74*1=122/7=3odd days. d date is jan1st for dis odd day is 0. Total odd days r 0+1+3+0=4 so ansz thursdy

Answer is D.Thursday
for 1600 years-0 odd days
for 300 yrs-1 odd day
for 97 yrs-24leap years and 73 Ordinary yrs =24*2+73*1=121 ODD Days
121/7=17 weeks +2 odd days
now 0+1+2=3
and add january 1 odd day
3+1=4
