Use allegations Basic formula
(80-65)/(65-60)=3/1

let the no of boys be x
so 0.6x
now no of girls are 400-x
so 0.8(400-x)
now 60% of boys which is 0.6x and 80%of girls which is 0.8(400-x) has cleared the exam and 65% has cleared the exam so
0.6x+0.8(400-x)=0.65*400
0.6x+320-0.8x=280
60=0.2x
x=300
so, 400-x=100
ans=100

p(a)+p(b)-p(a intersection b) so 60% of pass means 40% fail, 80% of pass means 20% fail like 65% means 35%

=> 40+20-35=25
so 400 of 25% =100

Ratio Boys and Girls is 3:1

400*1/4=100 Ans

let us take that boys +girls=400
so we can write it as girls=400-boys
in this 60%b+80%g=60%*400
.6 b-.8(400-.6)=260
. 6b-320-.8b=260
-0.2 b=260-320
b=60/.2=300
so the boys are 300 so reaming are 100 they are girls
