speed of train = 60*5/18mps = 50/3 mps
train covers 100m during journey of pigeon.
time taken =100*3/50 = 6 s

in 6 seconds pigeon delivers the letter and flies back so,
total time taken =
100/(p-50/3) + 100/(p+50/3) = 6
18p^2 - 600p -5000=0
9p^2 -300p-2500=0

p = 50/3(1+root(2)) = 40 (approx)

total distance travelled by the pigeon= 50/3(1+root(2))*6= 100(1+root(2))
