The following are possible combinations of two children that form a sample space in any earthly family:

Girl - Girl

Girl - Boy

Boy - Girl

Boy - Boy

Since we know one of the children is a girl, we will drop the Boy-Boy possibility from the sample space.

This leaves only three possibilities, one of which is two girls. Hence the probability is 1/3

here one of the kid is girl. so the other should be boy. so the probability of getting girl is 0.

They said that one of the child is girl..so definitely the other child will be either girl or boy..the probability for getting a girl is only one chance..so the answer will be 1.

so
G G ------- 1/2*1/2=1/4
G B ---------1/2*1/2=1/4
B G -------- 1/2*1/2=1/4
SO we add 1/4+1/4+1/4 ==3/4

one of the children is 1/2.(In terms of 6 months)
other children is also 1/2(In terms oh 6 months)
=1/2+1/2=1.
therfore other kid is 1/2.
