well here lets break the question. In first part "A boy and a Father went fishing"

heare.....v=u/2;
here times are....2hr for down straem,6hr for upstream...
assume dist between pq is::6 then.....

u+u/2=3kmper hour(total 2hr so....2*3=6)
u=2;v=1....ok....
u-u/2=1kmperhour(6hr..6*1=6km)...u=2;v=1;....hmmmm
so 6km is satisified.....ans==6km...(dist betwn pq)
