I am doing quantitative after a long time, so after solving this question when i got the answer as 8.33 with no options matching, i thought i have forgotten everything. After checking the solutions provided by other members i became happy

profit %=p/cp *100
let cp = x
therefore, p%= Sp-x/x * 100

5x= 31500-100x
x=300=cp.

now, sp = 275
loss= cp-sp
loss= 300-275=25
loss%= loss/cp * 100
Loss%= 25/300 * 100 %
Loss%= 8.33%

100%------->300(25*4=100 i.e 4*3=12)
when 275 get (1 part loss )
there for1/12=8.33

Xactly, no option is matching...

C.P. = (S.P. * 100)/(100+Profit%)
From first data , C.P. = (315*100)/105 = Rs. 300

After that, S.P. = 275
And, now applying C.P. as 300 we will get the value of Loss% From the below formula.

C.P. = (S.P. * 100)/(100-LOSS%)

Loss% = 8.33%

Since 5% profit on x = 315, x = 300.
3*7 = 21

Let x be original cost of article , so ,
x + 5% of x = 315

x = Rs 300

If Ashif sold article at 275 , loss = 300-275
= Rs 25 or 18.33%

Which doesn't match any of the given option
