ans is 9
100-0.02*9^2-0.05*9
=97.93

Explanation:
For some x, 97.93% fish was caught. So
> 100 - 0.02x2- 0.05x = 97.8
> 0.02x2 + 0.05x = 2.07
> 4x2+ 24x = 220
> 2x2+ 5x - 207 = 0
> 2x2+5x-207=0
> 2x2+23x-18x-207=0
> x(2x+23)-9(2x+23)=0
(x-9)(2x+23)=0
Solving we get x = 9and -23/2
So x = 9 is correct option.

for some x 97.93% fish would be caught
so,100-0.02x^2-0.05x=97.93
by solving the equation
0.02x^2+0.05x=2.07
2x^2+5x-207=0
2x^2+23x-18x-207=0
x(x+23)-18(x+23)=0
x=-23,x=18
so x=18 is the answer
