let. son age=x
fathers age=5x
4 years back, so (x-4)=(5x-4)
then father was 9 times older than son so, 9(x-4)=(5x-4).....(1)
solving eqn (1), x=8
and fathers age =8*5=40 years ANSWER..

x=5y..

solve both and get the ans

fathers age=5*8=40years

Let son age is x and father age is 5x,
4 years back
son age is x-4
Father age is 9(x-4)
x-4 = 9x-36
by solving this x=4
then come to present time that is add 4 years into x
so son age becomes 8 years
and father is 5 times of son age i.e 40 years

5s-4=9(s-4)

=40 yrs

let son's present age is x and father's present age is 5x. 4 years back son's present age is x-4 and father's present is 5x-4.but it is given in the problem that father;s age 4 years back is 9(son's age).
so,5x-4=9(x-4)----> 32=4x and x=8(son's age) 5x=5*8=40.(father's age).

so, in according to me,


4 years back
Let son x years and father y years
according to question
y = 9x+x
y = 10x
present
son = x+4
Father = 10x+4
according to question
10x+4 = 5(x+4)
5x = 16 => x = 16/5
Present age of father = 10x+4 = 32+4 = 36 years

current age of son = x
then currently father is 5x
four years ago :-
son:- x-4, father:- 5x-4
acc. to given condition
9(x-4) = 5x-4

on solving this we get x = 8 :- current age of son
we know current age of father is 5x= 40

Son=x
Father=9x
Now
Son=x+4
Father=9x+4
So, 9x+4=5(x+4)
=>9x-5x= 20- 4
=>4x= 16
=>x=4
So present age of father=(9×4)+4= 40 yrs
