If on a particular day, Rs. 25300 were collected from the passengers travelling between these stations, what was the amount collected from the Class III passengers ?

Let no.of passengers travelling by II class AC = 1X and III class = 20X.
Similarly fare for II class = 3Y and III class = 1Y.
Sum of (No.of passengers × Fare for passengers) for both classes= total amount collected
So (1X × 3Y)+(20X × 1Y) = 25300
3XY+20XY = 25300
23XY = 25300
=> XY = 1100
Now amount collected for III class = 20×1100 = 22000.
