A project is assigned to P, Q and R. They decided to work together and make some adjustment with them such that P can leave 3 weeks before the completion and R works only for 4 weeks. Ans = 15 days ....
One week work for each= 1/24, 1/36, 1/48..
let work is completed in x weeks .. So total work done by each in X weeks =1..
So.. P works x-3 weeks, Q works x weeks, and R works only 4 weeks ..
(x-3)/24 + x/36 + 4/48=1..
Solving for X.. No of weeks = 15 .. :)

for p work done in 1 week =1/24
for q "" "" "" "" "" "" =1/36
for r =1/48

total work during 4 weeks=4*( 1/24+1/36+1/48) = 0.361
remaining work is 1-.361=0.639
work done by q in 3 weeks=3/36 =.08333
so work done bye p and q =.639-.08333=.55567

which can be done by p and q in 0.55567/(1/24+1/36)=8 weeks

so total weeks=8+4+3=15

Answer will be 15 weeks as it is not mention in this question's option.
project will completein 15 weeks as Q works 15 weeks , P works 12 weeks and R works only 4 weeks .
