100-199 =19 (102,112,120-129,132,142,152,162,172,182,192)
200-299 =100 and similarly
300-400 =19

200-299=100+19
300-400=19
total=19+100+19+19=157

200-299=100
300-400=19
so answer is 138

From 100 to 199 the is only 19 number which have 2 in it not 20. Most common error in most of the answer is they counted 122 two times in series of 102,112,122,132,142....192 and then 120,121,122,123,..129.

hello,sorry friends..
i have a word 2 say..300-400 only 20 2's exist so th no of digits from 100-400 are 161

from 100 to 199 we will have 21 twos(i.e,100-110=1,111-120=2,121-130=10,131-140=1 same fr 300-400 series..bt fr 200-299 we will have 121 twos...so 121+21+21=163)

102,112,..........192 =10
120,121,..........129 =10
similarly
300 to 400 =20
and 200 to 300 =100; so answer=140

100-199-->(102-192=10&& 121-129==9 total 19)
200-299-->(2 is in evry digit from 200 onwards so total 100 && in 10's positon 2 comes 10 times in 220--229 so 100+10=110 in units position (202--292 so 110+10=120)
300-400--> 19
so total=19+120+19=158 is the correct answer!!!!!!!!!!!!

from 100 to 199= 10 (bcz 102,112,122,...192)
from 200 to 299= 100 (all of them)
from 300 to 400= 10 (same as 100 series)
total=120.

200 - 300 : (100-19) = 81
300 - 400 : 18

102-192=10,120-129=11-1=10,200=1 overall 21 in 100-200.
201-300=21+99=120.
301-400=21
21+120+21=162

300-399=20
200-299=200+20
total=260

100-199 there are 20 2's like 102 112 120 121 122 123 124 125 126 127 128 129 132 142 152 162 172 182 192
similarly we get 120 2's in between 200-299 and 20 2's in between 300-400 so a total of 160 2's

170 2's are present.. as 22 contains two 2's,122 contain two 2's,222 contain three 2,322,contain 2 2's we have to count even that 2's

according to the question,number of digits in between 100 and 400
yhe nos are 102 112 122 132 142. . . . . .392
here first term is (a)=102
common difference is (d)=10
tn=a+(n-1)d
392=102+(n-1)10
by solving this we get n=30
