If you have two buckets, one with red paint and other with blue paint, and you take one cup from the blue bucket and pour it into the red bucket. Then you take one cup from the red bucket and pour it into the blue bucket. Which bucket has the higher ratio between red and blue? Prove it mathematically.

Solution

let volume of paint in bucket=10 liter
volume of cup = 1 liter
bucket A= red paint
Bucket B= Blue paint
after step 1=> Bucket A= 11 liter = 10 liter red + 1 liter blue
Bucket B= 9 liter blue

now 1 liter of bucket A= 1/11 liter blue and 10/11 red

after step 2=> Bucket A= 10 liter=100/11 red +10/11 blue
red/blue= 10/1

Bucket B= 10 liter
= 9 liter blue+1/11 blue +10/11 red
= 100/11 blue + 10/11 red .
red/blue = 1/10
so ratio of red/blue is (10/1) higher in first bucket of red paint than the ratio of red /blue (1/10) in second bucket

let the volume of buckets be 2 L each represented by 2x and 2y ( x for bucket 1 and y for bucket 2).
so initially A=2x , B=2y
let the volume of cup be x.
so after [ step 1 ] : one cup red paint from bucket 1 to 2
A=x L and B = xL + 2yL.
so ratio of paints Red:Blue in red bucket = 1:2

[step 2] : one cup paint from bucket 2 to 1
so B = x + 2y - [ (1/3)x + (2/3)y ] = 2x/3 + 4y/3
and A= x + [ (1/3)x + (2/3)y ] = 4x/3 + 2y/3

so coeff of x in a = coeef of y in B.

Same.Bucket with red paint paint will have same ratio of red : blue as ratio of blue : red in blue paint bucket.

Suppose 100% is size of mug and 10% is size of cup
so transfer from red mug to blue mug of 10% than red=90% and blue=110%
blue to red of 10% transfer than in red-90+11=101% and blue=110-11=99%
red:blue=100:100 before after 101:99

The bucket with red paint consist highest ratio between red and blue
Cause:
1st bucket 2nd bucket
100ml red 100ml blue
10ml mug is use
now in first bucket 10ml blue is added
so total 110ml mixture in 1st second 90ml blue

second attempt we are taking 10ml from red bucket mixture
in 110ml 100ml red and 10ml blue ratio is 10:1
in 10ml 9.09ml red and 0.91ml blue
remaining red 90.91 blue 9.19 ratio between red and blue is 90.91:9.19

in blue red vl b 9.09ml and blue 90.81ml the ratio between red
and blue is 9.09:90.81
