Sides of cubes will be in the ratio of1:3. Hence area of faces will have the ratio 1:9.

answer is 1:9...because a^3/b^3=1/27 so a/b=1/3
hence area =a*a/b*b=1/9...

let side of 1st cube be "a" and that of 2nd cube be "b"
=>volume of 1st : volume of 2nd = ((a)^3) : ((b)^3)

volume of 1st : volume of 2nd = 1:27
therefore side is 1 and 3 respectively.
ratio of area of both = (a^2):(b^2) = (1^2):(3^2)
=1:9
