Answer is 182

Counting:

from 300 to 399 = 19
from 400 to 499 = 19
from 500 to 599 = 19
from 600 to 699 = 19
from 700 to 799 = 100

From 283 to 299 we have 2 AND from 800 to 839 we have 4

Therefore answer: (19*4)+100+2+4=182

283-300=4
301-400=19
401-500=19
501-600=19
601-700=20
701-800=118
801-839=4..
total 201.

300-399=19
400-499=19
500-599=19

From 283-299 we will get 2 7's
For 300-399 we will get 19 7's.. like that for 400 to 499,500 to 599, 600 to 699 we will get => 2+(4*19)=2+76=78
In 700 series we have 100 7's
so 100+78=178
Again from 800 - 839 4 7's
=> 178+4=182

1) 300 to 399 = 19
2) 400 to 499 = 19
3) 500 to 599 = 19
4) 600 to 699 = 19
5) 700 to 799 = 100
6)283 to 299=2

so req. ans is 182

ans is 56
counting no.s after 283 we have 7 in 287,297 ie.2 no.s in 200 now in 300's we have 10 such no.s. similarly in 400 again we will have 10 no.s adding them we have 50 no.s between 300 and 800.
now in 200's we calculated 2 such no.s and in 800's we have 4 no.s uptil 839.
so,
50+2+4=56.

i think the answer is 56. here have to find no. of numbers which have digit 7 in it. not no. of 7 in between 283 to 839.
283-300: 287,297=2
300-399: 307,317,327,337,347,357,367,377,387,397=10
400-499: same way 10
500-599: same way 10
600-699: same way 10
700-799: same way 10
800-839: 807,817,827,837=4
so total=2+5*10+4=56

every 100 nums will have 20 7 letter, and in 700 to 799 a total of 120 so total is 2+20+20+20+20+120+4=206
