Number of 2‘s at units place(1000 to 9999)=900
Number of 2‘s at tenths place(1000 to 9999)=900
Number of 2‘s at hundreds place(1000 to 9999)=900
Number of 2‘s at thousands place(1000 to 9999)=1000

therefore total number of 2‘s =(900+900+900+1000)=3700

4 digit number will be from 1000 to 9999
Consider 2 at unit's place. There will be 900 such numbers
Similarly there will be 900 numbers when 2 will be at ten's and hundred's place.
And finally when we consider 2 at thousand's place, there will 1000 such numbers.
Thus 900+900+900+1000=3700 will be the answer.

in 100 comes 19th time
1000-9999 is 999 terms so 10*19=190

9*10*10*1=900
9*10*1*10=900
9*1*10*10=900
1*10*10*10=1000

ans:=3168
4 digit no with digit 2 is=9*10*10*10=9000
4 digit no not with digit 2 is 8*9*9*9=5832
total no of 2=9000-5832=3168

The total 4 digit numbers are:1000 to 9999 is 9000
out of 9000 i never use 2 digit is
unit digit is:9 ways
10's digit:9
100,s digit:9
1000's place:8(0 is not allowed)
hencerequired ans:9000-(9*9*9*8)=3168
