let x be the price of the rice after mixing,then
120*x/100=70
x=175/3 by eligation method
the required ratio is(60-175/3):(175/3-50)=1:5

the mixture cp is:
x*120/100=70
x=70*100/120=58.33
according to tlaw of alligation rule=cost of 50kg/cost of 60kg
=(58.33-50)/(60-58.33)
=1/5(approx)

let 50rs rice will be .x gram then remaining 1-.x of 60rs
.x*50+(1-.x)*60=56
so x=400gm and remaining 600
then ans is 4/6=2/3

Assume x kg rice costing 50Rs per kg and y kg rice costing 60Rs per kg
SP=70
p=20% then CP=70/(1+.2)=175/3

(50x+60y)/(x+y)=175/3
150x+180y=170x+175y
20x=5y
x/y=1/4

s.p of 1 kg of mixture is 70 rs
he want to make 20% profit therefore c.p of 1kg of mixture is 80/100(70)=56
by the method of allogation required ratio = 60-56/(56-50)=4/6=2/3

SP=70 RS/KG,P%=20,so CP of one kg mixture is 175/3
by alligation,

CP1=50 RS/KG CP2=60 RS/KG

CP OF MIX=175/3 RS/KG

(60-175/3)= 5/3 (175/3 - 50)=25/3
RATIO IS 1:5

let 50kgs rice quantity be x
let 60 kgs rice quantity be 100-x
profit is 20% => 1.2 times of actual cost
so
1.2[50*x + 60*(100-x)]=70*100
by solving the equation
u will get x and y(rest of kgs)
by diving x/y u will get the ratio

these question is a combination of average and allegation
we have two products one is 50 rs./kg nad other is 60rs./kg
seels price is 70 (including 20% profit )
so th cost price of mixture would have been = 58.33 rs/kg
now apply allegation
50-58.33=8.33
58.33-60=1.67
it means the ratio is 8.33:1.67
as ratio should be in integers it would be 5:1 ans.

Selling price of the mixture = 70 and profit = 20%

Cost price of the mixture = 70×100/120=70×5/6
By applying alligation rule:

50(least price) 60(high price)
70 x (50/60) (new price *(least*high)
60-(175/3) : (175/3)-50

So ratio = 60−(175/3) : (175/3)-50
= 1 : 5

let 'x' be the quantity of rice of first variety and 'y' be the same of second variety
then to find the cost price of that mixture ..let cp be the cost price
then cp+0.2cp=70
then cp=58.33``
therefore the mixture can now be expressed in the terms of equation as
(50x+60y)/(x+y)=58.33 - - - - - - - >>>(total cost of rice)/(total quantity of rice) "cost per kg of total rice" =cost price per kg of mixture
thus 50x+60y=58.33x+58.33y
1.67y=8.33x
x/y=1.67/8.33=`1/5---------------->>>>>>>1:5 is the answer

Explanation: SP of mix=70
Profit%=20
CP=x(say)
So, x+20%x=70
or, x=175/3

By link up method,
50 60
(175/3)

(5/3) (25/3)
[Find the difference by crossing the values and calculate the ratio]

(5/3):(25/3)
=1:5
