intial salary be x
after one year 11% raise of his present salary so x+0.11x=1.11x
after 2nd year 11% decrease of present salary so 1.11x-(1.11x * 0.11)= 0.9879x
so after two versions change of his salary wil be x-0.9879x = 0.0121
in percentage 0.0121*100 = 1.21

Formula : square of (x/10).

square of (11/10)
= square of (1.1)
= 1.21 % reduction.

(d) 1.21. consider his initial salary to be 100 rs, then after increase in his salary, it will become rs 111, and after 11% decrease, it will become 98.79 rs. so % decrease= 100-98.79/100*100 = 1.21

the answer is 1.21%.
take his intitaila salary be x.
After first year his salary will be (x+(11x/100))=111x/100
After 2nd year his salary will be (111x/100)-((111x/100)*(11/100))=9879x/10000
in total his salary is changed by, x-9879x/10000 = 121x/10000
thus answer is 1.21%

assume the salary be 100
first it is raised by 11% so new salary was 111
and reduced by 11% now the salary was 98.79
therefore decreased overall by 1.21%

IF ANYTHING IS INCREASED AND DECRESED BY SAME PERCENTGE, THE FORMULA IS (X/10)^2
