In a chess game a man plays 16 moves, one move to every piece in the following manner:-

1) King can move 1 step in any direction

2) Queen can move in any direction

3) Rook can move straight in any direction

4) Bishop can move in slant squares

5) Knight can move 2 forward then 1 turned step

6) Every pawn can move 1 or 2 step forward

What is the probability that after that move all the piece are arranged in third
and fourth row if initially they are arranged in first and second row as the rule of game.

if we want to shift at 3 and 4 row total moves are:
1 move for each paw as it can move 2 step =8*1=8
1 move for each rook as it can move straigth= 1*2(rook)=2
1 move for queen straight =1
2 move for each knight=2*2=4
2 move for each Bishop=2*2=4
2 move for king to move =2
total =19 moves
we just provided only 16 moves so we can't do this so probably probability is : 0

answer is 16/17.

max. moves needed to arrange this is 17.
pawn take 8 moves to set in forth row.
king take 2 moves to set in third row.
queen take 1 moves to set in third row.
rook take 2 moves to set in third row.
bishop take 2 moves to set in third row.
knight take 2 moves to set in third row.
total 17 moves needed to arrange the pattern.
