let the people in the city be x
60% are congress=60% of x
40% are BJP=40% of x
out of 60%,75% voted for congress=75%(60% of x)=18x/40
out of 40%,20% voted for congress=20%(40% of x)=8x/100
total=18x/40+8x/100=106x/200
total percent=106x/200*100=53% of x

then 60 voters of congress and 40 bjp voters.
then from 60 voters 75% give vote to a so it is 45
then from 40 voters 20% give vote to a so it is 8
so sum is 45+8=53 people from 100 people so answer is 53%

then 60 voters of congress and 40 bjp voters.
then from 60 voters 75% give vote to a so it is 45
then from 40 voters 20% give vote to a so it is 8
so sum is 45+8=53 people from 100 people so answer is 53%

The question is very simple.
let 'x' be the no of registered voters.
60% of x support congress = 0.6x support congress
remaining bjp
which means, (x-0.6x)=0.4x are bjp supporters
75 % of registered congress supporters means 75% of(0.6x)
= 0.75(0.6x)=0.45 x
20% of registered bjp supporters means 20% of (0.4x)
=0.2(0.4x)=0.08x
these both are xpected to vote for candidate A
so sum them up
0.45+0.08 = 0.53
which is 53%
is the correct answer

0.6*0.75x+0.2*0.4x will give vote to A = o.53x and x are total registered one so 53%

consider 100%,congress is=60%,rest=40%,75%of congress=(75/100)*60= 45 ,20% of BJP=(20/100)*40= 8 ,so answer is 53

Let, total voters=100
60% voters are congress supporters.=> 60 votes.
so, 100-60=40 voters for bjp.
75%of congress+20% of bjp=(75/100)*60+(20/100)*40.
=>45+8=53.
So, 53% registered voters will vote for candidate A.

let x are correct and (26-x) questions are wrong
8*x+ (-5)*(26-x) = 0
on solving we get
x = 10
