120 at 11 B travels 40 miles and takes left and till 1 travels 80 km...A travels 40 km in 2hrs takes right and 40km until 2 ..now A and B when stopped at a point..turn oppiste direction and a covers 40miles B travels 80miles therefore distance is 120 between A and B

i think ans is 80km.bcz distance travelled by car A in 2hr=2*20 ie 40km
n distance travelled by car B in 1 hr= 1*40 ie 40km
hence total distance b/w car A n car B is= 40 +40=80 km.

A and B are at same pt

for 2 hrs A travells 40km then it wil be at point * }
}both at same pt
in 1 hr B travells 40km and it wil be at point * }

now A travells for 40km(2 hrs) in right side
now B travells for 80km(remaining 2 hrs) in left side

both are in opposite directions
distance between A and B is 40+80=120

A travel=20mph*2(from 12o'clk to 2o'clk)
=40unit
B travel=40mph*1(from 12o'clk to 1o'clk)
=40unit
distance betn A&B= 40+40
=80unit

ans is 80 m....becoz at 12 clock B has travelled 80 m ...and A has travelled 40 m...at 12o clock A turned ryt and travelld a distance of 40 m and stopped.now as given in the question B traveld equal distance as A before turning...now B turns to left and travells a distance of 40m...now the distance between A and B is 80m...draw it u will understand it easily...

its not given that car B turns towards left at 12. therefore we cannot guess b travelled - 40 m * 1 hr.
and so the ans is not 40 and the right ans is 120.
we need to find the distance both the car equally travelled using the datas given for car
A. i.e 40 , using data given for car B , Find the total distance and subtract it from 40 ( 40mph*3=120-40=80)
therefore 80+40 =120

ans .120 becoz
speed of B is more then car A.. means at 11'o clock B travel 40m and it turn while car A travel this distance 20 +20=40 in 2 hr from 10 to 12'o clock
since B turn at 11:00 ... so after turning
from 11:00 to 1:00 Car B travel 40+40=80m and from 12:00 to 2:00 car A travel 20+20=40m in 2hr
total distance=80+40=120
