let weight of the apple be "a". then intially it would be x+4a=2. when she weighed the equation would be x+2= 12a . solving both equations, a= 1/4.
therefore for 2kg , no. of apples are 2/1/4 = 8 apples.

if ...left side wt=4apples+xkg(extra wt)
right side wt=2kg
=>4apples+xkg=2kg......(1)
if..left side wt=xkg+2kg
right side wt=12 apples
=>x+2kg=12 apples .......(2)
by subtracting 2 eq's
4apples+xkg-(xkg+2kg)=2kg-12apples
16apples=4kgs
8apples=2kg...ans=8apples

As she got less apples when the weight put on the right side, the left pan has more weight say w kgs.
Now w + 4a = 2
and w+ 2 = 14a
Solving we get a = 2/9 Kgs.
So she gets, 2/(2/9) = 9 apples

8apples=2kg...ans=8apples

the ratio of weights should be the same...so 4a/2=2/12a ..so a=0.28 so ax=2 so x=7.14 ie 7

Let weight of the apple be "a".
Then initially it would be x+4a=2.
when she weighed the equation would be x+2= 12a .
solving both equations, a= 1/4.
therefore for 2kg , no. of apples are 2/(1/4) = 8 apples.
